Welcome to the Cardiac Surgery Risk Modeler



Developed by Dr Pliam at the San Francisco Heart & Vascular Institute, this relatively simple application utilizes powerful database modeling tools to help the physician quickly assess the risk of a particular patient about to undergo cardiac surgery.  The nine risk models are based on the Society of Thoracic Surgeons National Cardiac Surgery Database.  By entering some readily available preoperative data for a patient, the risk for each of these models can be quickly calculated and compared to published national benchmarks.  This software is provided free of charge through the generosity of the San Francisco Heart & Vascular Instiute and the PliaTech Research Foundation.
